Scope and Content Loch Rannoch hydro-power station, Perth and Kinross Luftwaffe aerial photograph of Loch Rannoch hydro-power station, taken during World War II. The route of the water supply for the Rannoch hydro-electric power station, through pipes and by aqueduct, is clearly indicated on this photograph. The pylons carrying electricity away from the power station are visible along the shore of the loch. The German Luftwaffe took aerial photographs of parts of Scotland throughout World War II. The photographs were used for intelligence work, such as selecting targets, assessing bombing accuracy and finding equipment and defensive positions. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
