Scope and Content North of Scotland Milling Co's mill, Turriff, Aberdeenshire This large corn mill was designed for railway access. It presented four storeys to the railway side, and two to the road, with a large central kiln. It was presumably originally steam powered. This view shows the mill from the south, road side. The mill was by then out of use. Note the tall Aberdeenshire-style kiln ventilator, and the millstones lying against the gable Kiln ventilators of this type were characteristic of many Aberdeenshire mills, and of a few others in neighbouring counties.
