Scope and Content Garve Station, Ross and Cromarty This station was built for the Dingwall and Skye line of The Highland Railway, and is in a style characteristic of that railway, with the agent's house above the passenger accommodation. This view shows the station from the west. The masonry structure on the right is the base of a water tank used to provide water for steam locomotives. The Dingwall and Skye originally ran from Dingwall to Strome Ferry, but was extended to Kyle of Lochalsh in 1897. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
