Scope and Content Broch at Dun Troddan, Glenelg, Highland Dun Troddan is built on a terrace on the side of a hill. It is one of the best preserved brochs with one third of the wall still standing to over 7 m high. This is a view of the broch's mural galleries. The remains of three galleries can be seen within the hollow walls. They are most clearly seen at the broken ends of the wall. Only the lowest gallery, at first floor level, appears to have been used. Excavations in 1920 revealed the location of the postholes for the wooden posts which would have supported internal structures. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
