Scope and Content Gordon Station, Gordon, Berwickshire This little station was built for the Berwickshire Railway, a cross-country line from a junction south of Melrose to an end-on junction with the Duns branch of the North British Railway. This view shows the station from the railway side. The two-storey section incorporated a house for the agent. The timber building was a later addition. The small size of this station indicates that the line was built as cheaply as possible. The railway ran through sparsely populated country, and was never very profitable.
