Scope and Content Former Blairgowrie Railway Station, Blairgowrie, Perthshire This station was opened in 1855 as the terminus of a branch from Coupar Angus of the Scottish Midland Junction Railway. The station was rebuilt on a larger scale in 1895 by the Caledonian Railway. This view shows the front block added in 1895, with its glazed awning, on the right, and the 1855 station and station house on the left. This station was closed to passengers in 1955, and to freight in 1965, a victim of the Beeching cuts. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
