Scope and Content Drawing room, Tarbat House, near Milton of Kildary, Highland Tarbat House was built in 1787 to plans drawn up by James McLeran and incorporated masonry from an earlier house on the site. Much of the interior has now been lost. This shows the drawing room, stripped of its furniture and fittings but still containing fine plaster mouldings and original wallpaper. Unfaded patches on the wall mark where pictures once hung. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
