Scope and Content Pre-restoration view of kitchen, ground floor, south block, Little Tarrell Castle, near Portmahomack, Highland Little Tarrell Castle was probably built in the late 16th century for the Rosses of Little Tarrell. It served as a store and bothy from in the early 19th century until 1981-4 when it was restored. This is the ground-floor kitchen before it was restored. The fireplace in the far, south, wall is original. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
