Scope and Content West side of north wing, Castle Leod, near Strathpeffer, Highland Castle Leod was probably rebuilt after 1608 - the year Roderick Mackenzie received the estate from his brother - and enlarged a few years later. It fell into disuse in the 18th century and was restored, altered and extended in the 19th century. This is the west side of the north wing, built in 1874 and rebuilt and extended in 1904 and 1912. It hides an earlier single-storeyed block built in 1851. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
