Scope and Content Monument to Captain MacLennan, grounds of Dingwall Castle, High Street, Dingwall, Highlands The Castle was built in 1812 for Captain Roderick MacLennan. Its mock-crenellated form commemorates medieval Dingwall Castle, demolished in 1818. Standing in the garden is this monument to Captain MacLennan, by John Hinchcliffe the younger. It bears a relief of MacLennan's ship, The Dart. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
