Scope and Content Fireplace in east bedroom, first floor of south range, Falkland Palace, Fife Falkland Palace was remodelled in 1537-41 for King James V (died 1542). The south range dates from his reign, as do the exteriors of the earlier buildings. The east and north ranges were probably both built for King James IV (1488-1513). This is the fireplace of the east bedroom on the first floor of the south range. The room was one of six courtiers' apartments on the first floor beneath the chapel.
