Scope and Content Pictish symbol stone at Keillor, Perth and Kinross Standing on top of a cairn, this Pictish symbol stone is situated about 300m north-west of High Keillor steading. Incised on the granite slab are three Pictish symbols. At the top is the outline of an animal, possibly a wolf. Beneath is a double-disc and 'Z-rod' motif, and at the bottom is a fragmentary mirror. Over 200 Pictish symbol stones are known in Scotland, employing a variety of symbols. Carvings drawing on the real world, such as objects and animals, are found in conjunction with detailed abstract designs and fantastic creatures. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
