Scope and Content Thatching, Number 4 Gladgate, Auchtermuchty, Fife Number 4 Gladgate was probably built during the 19th century. This shows how the thatch was cut at the eaves. Auchtermuchty was once famous for its thatched roofs. The rushes came from the nearby Lindores Loch. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
