Scope and Content Ceiling of Grotto Room, Buckie House, 2 High Street, Anstruther Wester, Fife Buckie House was built in the late 17th century and restored in 1968 by W Murray Jack. The Grotto Room, like the east gable was, decorated with scallop shells and whelks or 'buckies' by the slater Andrew Batchelor in the mid 19th century. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
