Scope and Content Muir of Gormack, stone circle, Perth and Kinross Situated on the top of a low knoll, close to an area of extensive prehistoric settlement at Muir of Gormack, there are the remains of a four-poster stone circle. Two stones, 0.5m and 0.4m in height, remain standing, but the other two have fallen and now lie close to their original positions. A stone circle with four upright stones is known as a four-poster stone circle. Often located on a mound or terrace, four-poster stone circles vary in size and shape, and can be found in several areas of Scotland. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
