Scope and Content Courtyard of Muircambus Steading, Fife Muircambus Steading was begun in the mid 19th century and is an example of the kind of sophisticated farm complex characteristic of the period. Most of the key buildings are grouped together in a single integrated steading. This is the courtyard. On the extreme left is the gig-house. To its a right is the arched pend or passage leading out of the steading, and the three open arches of the cart-shed. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
