Catalogue Number SC 374388

Scope and Content Cross-section of shutters of panelled first-floor private room, 1597 block, Culross Palace, Fife Culross Palace, originally called 'The Great Lodging', was built between 1597 and 1611 by George Bruce. Restored by The National Trust for Scotland and Historic Scotland, it is the best surviving example of a merchant's house from that period. This is a cross-section of the shutters of the windows overlooking the main entrance. Like the panelling, they were probably installed during the reign of George II (1727-1760).
