Scope and Content Rear of south addition to Old Library, St Mary's College, St Andrews, Fife St Mary's College was founded in 1537 by James Beaton, Archbishop of St Andrews. Since its initial completion in 1544 (with the help of French masons employed on king's palace at Falkland), the college has been expanded and modernised. This is the rear of the south addition to the Old Library, built in 1889-90 with later additions, including a block by Lorimer in 1907-9. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
