Scope and Content Foundation stone of Jasmine Place old people's sheltered housing, Aberdeen Jasmine Place was built in 1984-5 by Wimpey. It was the last block in the final phase of multi-storeyed housing in Aberdeen. This phase was a unique specialised programme of sheltered blocks catering for the elderly. Aberdeen, Jasmine Place, Point Block / Residential / / / DIGITAL IMAGES After 1959, Aberdeen's Housing Committee built multi-storey blocks in the suburbs, and larger 'slab' blocks on slum clearance sites. By 1971, public authorities owned almost half of Aberdeen's housing, nearly a third of which had been built since 1952. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
