Scope and Content Coroghon Castle, Canna and Coroghon Bay from the south-west Coroghon Castle stands on top of a stack at the south-east end of the cliffs that form the east end of Canna. The castle is said to have been a prison, used in the late 17th century by Donald MacDonald of Clanranald to confine his wife. View along the shore of Coroghon Bay with the mountains of Skye in the background. A survey of Canna and Sanday was undertaken by the Royal Commission to record all the archaeological sites and monuments and the landscape within which they lie.
