Scope and Content Carved stone from the monastic enclosure, Canna Fragments of three Early Christian carved stones have been recovered from within the monastic enclosure at the foot of the cliffs named Sgorr nam Ban-naomha - the cliff of the holy women. Fragment of the Early Christian cross-marked stone. This stone was first identified during the survey in 1994. A survey of Canna and Sanday was undertaken by the Royal Commission to record all the archaeological sites and monuments and the landscape within which they lie. This landscape is published as RCAHMS Broadsheet 5. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
