Scope and Content View from The Haggs (or Stinking Wynd) of The Study, The Cross, Culross, Fife The Study was built in the early 17th century and owes its name to the 'study', or private room, capping its tower which was used by Bishop Leighton of Dunblane when he visited Culross. Now painted and harled, it has been the subject of restoration. This pre-restoration picture of the Study was taken from The Haggs (or Stinking Wynd) the alley to its west. The crow-stepped gables are clearly visible. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
