Scope and Content Reconstruction of painted wooden gable panel in attic of North Block, Culross Palace, Fife Culross Palace, originally called 'The Great Lodging', was built between 1597 and 1611 by George Bruce. Restored by The National Trust for Scotland and Historic Scotland, it is the best surviving example of a merchant's house from that period. This reconstruction, drawn in 1939, shows a fragment of a painted wooden panel as it would have looked in position in the attic's east gable. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
