Scope and Content Slate loading jetty, Easdale, Argyll The quarry on Easdale is one of the many Scottish slate quarries which flourished in the 18th and 19th centuries, especially on the Argyll seaboard and its offshore islands. This jetty was built around 1826 and was used to load slate onto boats for export. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
