Scope and Content Tiling with dado in lobby inside manager's house at Dunmore Pottery, Dunmore, Stirlingshire From the early 19th century, Dunmore Pottery made tiles and domestic ware using local clay from Dunmore Moss, and superior clay from Devon and Cornwall. The surviving remains date from after about 1860 when it was bought by Peter Gardner. This tiled wall with dado of decorative tiles representing natural subjects comes from inside the manager's house. It is typical of the pottery's colourful faience work and may have been installed in honour of a visit by the Prince of Wales, later Edward Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
