Scope and Content Possible model paddle from crannog at Loch Glashan, Kilmichael Glassary, Mid Argyll, Argyll and Bute The logboat (otherwise known as a 'dugout' or 'canoe') is a simple and 'primitive' boat, but this does not imply that it is necessarily early, most examples recovered being medieval or later in date. In 1960, excavation of this crannog revealed, among other wooden artifacts, a possible model paddle now held in Glasgow Art Gallery and Museum); it may have had a ritual or ceremonial function.
