Scope and Content Logboat from Kirk Loch (no.1), Lochmaben, Annandale, Dumfries and Galloway The logboat (otherwise known as a 'dugout' or 'canoe') is a simple and 'primitive' boat, but this does not imply that it is necessarily early, most examples recovered being medieval or later in date. A logboat was discovered here in 1910 during the construction of a curling rink; the remains are now in Dumfries Museum. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
