Scope and Content Diagram of central shaft of mechanism inside horse-mill at West Gallaberry. Kirkton, Dumfries and Galloway The horse engine-house at West Gallaberry is one of very few to retain most of its driving-mechanism. However, its threshing machine no longer survives. The central shaft supporting the wheel turns on a bearing in the 'sole plate' set into the floor of the horse-mill.
