Scope and Content Wall profile of Houldsworth's Cotton Mill in City of Glasgow Houldsworth's Cotton Mill was built in 1804-5 and is important because it was one of the first mills to built with fire safety in mind. This 'wall-profile' is a cross section of the pilasters on the facade of the building. The line with a zag-zag shows where the draughtsman has missed out five storeys of the building.
