Scope and Content Cross-slab known as Sueno's Stone at Forres, Morayshire Sueno's Stone is a 7.6 ton slab of stone, probably from the coast at Covesea some 15 km away. One story is that the stone commemorate a major battle against Norse settlers from Orkney. Found buried in 1726, the stone is now covered by a glass case. This is a view of the third of four panels. It shows an army laying siege to what appears to be a broch. On the left are six decapitated bodies, hands tied behind their backs, and a pile of heads. A seventh victim has just been beheaded.
