Scope and Content Cross-slab known as the Bore Stone at Moncrieffe House, Perth and Kinross The Bore Stone now stands beside Moncrieffe House. It was originally found in a field at Gask. The stone has been carved in fine high relief on both faces, though the top of it has broken off. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. It shows the S face which has a decorated ring-headed cross. Animals surround the shaft. There is also serpent and Z-rod and a flower. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
