Scope and Content Recumbent stone circle at Midmar Kirk, Echt, Aberdeenshire This recumbent stone circle can be found in the churchyard at Midmar Kirk. It has been landscaped and re-arranged. This probably happened in 1914 when the graveyard was laid out. A ring-cairn was also cleared away. This is a view of the stone circle. The recumbent is 4.5 m long and weighs 20 tons. It is flanked by two uprights, 2.5 m high. These are shaped like giant canine teeth. At least one stone, to the NNE has been re-erected. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
