Scope and Content Symbol stone from St Peter's Church, South Ronaldsay, Orkney This symbol stone was found being used as a window sill at St Peter's Church on South Ronanlday. The stone had already been reused as one set of symbols were carved later than the other. It is now in the Royal Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. The upper symbol is a rectangle. Below this is a crescent and V-rod. The right-hand side of the stone is damaged. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
