Scope and Content Detail of pear-shaped bellows smithy at Machrimore, Strathclyde The smithy at Machrimore was built as part of the estate and was in use until the late 1960s. This set of pear-shaped bellows in the work-room was no longer in use when this photograph was taken. It had been made obsolete by more efficient cylindrical bellows.
