Scope and Content Symbol stone known as Craigton 1 at Dunrobin, Sutherland, Highland This symbol stone stands 200 m E of Dunrobin Castle. It is probably an earlier standing stone which was reused. The stone originally came from Craigton, a village which no longer exists. It was moved to its present location around 1840. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. The main symbol is a large, vertical, crescent and V-rod. Above is a small divided rectangle, and below, a flower. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
