Scope and Content Reconstruction of Aberdeen Tolbooth (around 1760), City of Aberdeen Aberdeen Tolbooth was built in the 17th century and modified during the next three centuries along with the surrounding buildings. Only the tower or 'wardhouse' survives from the original building. This is how the tolbooth would have looked after its main entrance was moved to the south wall so that the Society of Free Masons could build the New Inn next door. The extension above the pend belonged to the tolbooth and housed a charter-room and cell. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
