Scope and Content Fort at Dun Nosebridge, Islay, Argyll and Bute Dun Nosebridge fort is situated on an isolated ridge and is unusual for the W of Scotland. The summit is protected by a wall with further defences lower down. It is rectangular in plan which is unusual for Iron Age forts. It has not been excavated. This view shows the different defences at the site. The summit is protected by a rectangular wall. Lower down are two ramparts with ditches on either side. The ditches also acted as quarries for the stone. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
