Scope and Content Detail of carved panel on Ceres Weigh-house, Fife Ceres Weigh-house was probably built in the 18th century, though Ceres was made a burgh of barony for the Hopes of Craighall in 1620. The sloping site allowed the builders to put in an extra basement at the back. GOD BLESS THE JUST is inscribed over the main entrance to the building. The carving depicts a set of scales with a standard weight on one side and a bale on the other. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
