Scope and Content Detail of painted ceiling in debtors' room inside Culross Town-house, Fife Culross Town-house was built in the early 17th century, probably replacing an early tolbooth dating from before 1588. This is a detail of cherub's head from the 18th-century open beamed painted ceiling of the debtors' room. It is part of a unique pattern of repeated draped heads and cherub's heads, stars and faceted rectangles. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
