Scope and Content Settlement at Scord of Brouster, West Mainland Shetland The neolithic settlement site at Scord of Brouster is probably the most complete and understandable site on the islands. The site consists of at least four houses, clearance cairns, enclosures and field systems. There is also a later ring cairn. This is a view of the site. Inside the stone-walled enclosure is a large oval house. This has a central hearth and stone-built cells within the walls. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
