Scope and Content Broch at Hoga Ness, Unst, Shetland This broch is at Hoga Ness. The broch itself is not well preserved, though the outer defences are. A rectangular building to the N of the remains is probably a skeo from the nearby ruined croft. It has been built from stone taken from the broch. This is a view of the site's outer defences. They originally consisted of a pair of stone-faced ramparts and two ditches. The entrance causeway was to the N. Though these are still well preserved, the broch itself is very ruinous.
