Scope and Content Cairn at Nether Largie (North), Argyll and Bute There are two Bronze Age cairns at Nether Largie, near Kilmartin. They stand about 150 m apart. Both the cairns were excavated between 1929-30. This is a view of the North Cairn. Though still impressive to see, its current state is due to it being largely reconstructed. The cist in the centre was excavated in 1930 though little was found. Two of the slabs lining the cist are decorated. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
