Scope and Content Cairn known as Glebe Cairn at Kilmartin, Argyll and Bute Glebe Cairn is at Kilmartin. It is the northernmost in a line of cairns along the valley floor. It contained several burials and appears to have been rebuilt over several centuries. This is a view of the remains of the cairn. It can be seen as an impressive pile of stones. There no structural features remaining although complex arrangements were found in the course of the excavation.. The cairn contained several cists. One of these had an inhumation burial with a Food Vessel and beads from a jet necklace. The central cist, built in a shaft, also contained an inhumation and a Food Vessel.
