Scope and Content Settlement at Scord of Brouster, West Mainland Shetland The settlement site at Scord of Brouster is probably the most complete and understandable neolithic site on the islands. The site consists of at least four houses, clearance cairns, enclosures and field systems. There is also a later ring cairn. This is a view of the ring cairn at the site. It is built near one of the houses, but was probably built about one and a half thousand years after. It is almost a perfect circle, with a kerb of boulders and large stones.
