Scope and Content Reconstruction of arcade inside the tower of Aberdeen Tolbooth, City of Aberdeen Aberdeen Tolbooth was built in the 17th century and modified during the next three centuries along with the surrounding buildings. Only the tower or 'wardhouse' survives from the original building. The first floor of the tower or 'wardhouse' was a vestibule for the court-house, entered through an elaborate arcade. The two outer arches were blocked in the 18th century, and the middle arch blocked in the 19th century. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
