Scope and Content Cross-slab known as Kirriemuir 2 at Forfar, Angus This stone, along with one other, were discovered in 1787 in the foundations of an old church in Kirriemuir. They were placed in a cemetery and are now on display at the Meffan Institute in Forfar. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. It shows two horsemen with spears, a hound and a stag. There is also a double-disc and Z-rod. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
