Scope and Content Cross-slab known as St Orland's Stone at Cossans, Angus St Orland's Stone stands on a low knoll and records show a number of cist burials have been found nearby. It has been broken and repaired and has carvings on both sides. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. The E face has a cross with a ring of glory carved in high-relief. The cross is surrounded by a frame, also in high-relief. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
