Scope and Content Written on the back of the mounted print: 'Shire: Fife. Place: Anstruther Wester. Building: Buckie House, 2, High Street'. Photographer: 'F.B.' Date: 'July 1963' Buckie House, 2 High Street, Anstruther Wester, Fife Buckie House was built in the late 17th century and restored in 1968 by W Murray Jack. The east gable was decorated with scallop shells and whelks or 'buckies' by the slater Andrew Batchelor in the mid 19th century. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
