Scope and Content Broch at Dun Carloway, Isle of Lewis, Western Isles Dun Carloway is one of the best preserved examples of a broch in Scotland. In places it almost stands to its original height. It is possible to see the basics of its construction as part of the wall has fallen down. This is a view of the inside of the broch. The two openings in the inner wall may have been to let light into lower galleries. The entrance is on the north side or the circular courtyard. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
