Date 31/5/2014

Collection Papers of James Sloan Bone, landscape historian, Inverness, Highland, Scotland

Scope and Content There is a record of a castle in Inverness going back to the C12 but this present building dates from the C19. Very little relates to earlier structures. It functions as the Sheriff Court (2020). Several of the buildings in Castle Street, which runs across the centre of the photo, are of historical interest. The statue of Flora MacDonald was erected in 1899. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
